This is Austin Robert Carlile. You might know him as the vocalist for Of Mice & Men, but I know him as my inspiration. Austin Carlile has been my favorite musician well, since Attack Attack. I remember finding them and falling in love with their unique style of music. I fell in love with his voice, and he became my favorite musician. Since I was ten years old I’ve had depression and Austin and Attack Attack’s music were always there for me through the hard times. My favorite song off of Someday Came Suddenly has and always will be Shred, White And Blue.
He’s really my number one inspiration. Him being vocally talented, made me want to become a clean vocalist, not much a screamer. Their music also made me realize I wanted to play guitar. Later I decided I wanted to play Bass, but that’s besides the point.
Austin and his music has been there through the hard times, but I’m sad to say there have been times where I’ve failed them. I’ve attempted suicide four times, each time was a fail, but after realizing what I’d done I’d listened to their music and it put a smile on my face, made me happy.
Austin’s quote “You have many options in life, never make giving up one of them.” really stuck out to me. I even have it planned to be tattooed on my right side. In honor of what him and his music has done for me. He’s made me a stronger person, he’s made me realize that there ARE many option in life, and giving up should NEVER be one of your options; ever. He’s made me realize that I am as a person stronger than what I’ve made myself out to be. That I have purpose here on this planet.
He’s made me realized that there’s so much time and there’s so many things I can do with my life, why should you waste it and die way too early? He’s helped me with my struggle with depression, he’s helped me through my struggle with self harm, he’s helped me with my struggle with life. If he wasn’t alive, I don’t know where I’d be. His music has always been the one thing I look up to, along with himself.
Austin is absolutely perfect in every way, his personality, his smile, his laugh, his legs, his feet. Y’know it’s awkward, but it’s true. Everything about him is absolutely perfect. Without him, I probably wouldn’t be who I am today. Without him I don’t think I’d be here.
Austin Robert Carlile is my inspiration, in exactly two weeks I’ll be meeting him for the first time at Warped Tour. In two weeks time I’ll probably be crying my eyes out because of the fact I’ll be meeting my number one inspiration. I’ll be meeting the one person whose kept me alive and has helped me through it all.
This post is to tell him thank you, to tell him that everyday has been a struggle, but thanks to him he’s made my life so much better.
Thank you Austin Robert Carlile, for all you’ve done for me.

This is going around again, and I’d just like to say that even though I’ve grown away from post-hardcore and Of Mice & Men, that Austin is still my main inspiration.. no matter what bad shit he’s done or what has happened. I don’t care. He’s the reason I’m still here.

Suicide Silence has revealed in a new interview they will indeed be releasing a new DVD featuring the Mitch Lucker memorial show. The band also hopes to release some other new things in the coming year. Check out a bit of the interview below.

I know you say you don’t want to think about what’s next, but might there be some hidden tracks or compilations in the works that could keep fans involved while your taking the time to figure out that next step?
We will definitely be releasing a memorial DVD from the memorial show we did for Mitch. We played in California last year and that will definitely be coming out, so we definitely have at least a couple of more releases in the coming year — DVD stuff and you know, like we said, we don’t have plans on anything else.
